Sharon Parker

Sharon M. Parker practices primarily in the areas of business law and civil litigation,
with a particular focus on representing religious and charitable organizations. She
assists her clients in general business and real estate transactions, employment and
personnel matters (including employment investigations), and matters involving the
intersection between church and state. She stays current on the wide variety of legal
issues affecting religious organizations through her membership in the National Diocesan
Attorneys Association and the Canon Law Society of America. She devotes a substantial
portion of her practice to civil litigation and has successfully represented clients
in cases involving personal injury, business and contract disputes, civil rights, trusts
and estates, probate and domestic relations.
Ms. Parker was admitted to the Nevada bar in 2001, the California bar in 2002 and the
U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada in 2003. She is a member of the Washoe
County and American Bar Associations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from
the University of San Francisco (cum laude, 1990), a Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology
from the University of St. Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum), Rome, Italy (magna cum laude, 1994),
a License in Canon Law from the Gregorian University, Rome, Italy (cum laude, 1996),
and a Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. (magna cum laude, 2001).
Ms. Parker was born and raised in Covina, California. Prior to obtaining her J.D.
she worked as a canon lawyer for the Diocese of Reno. She was the law clerk to
the Honorable Brent T. Adams from 2001 to 2002. She speaks Italian proficiently
and has studied Greek, Latin, Spanish and German as well. |
